The problem with Zachary is its location. Anytime you go to BR you have to go through the ghetto on I-110.

You go over the ghetto.

I'd choose St Francisville over Zachary

Are you that big of a pussy you can’t drive an elevated interstate over the ghetto?

Zachary is the way to go. It takes me about 20 minutes to get downtown. P’ville is a constant cluster frick.

I will say that I’m starting to worry about Zachary and their schools. There are tons of houses for sale and a plethora of people are renting to trashy outsiders.

Anything to do with the massive GP layoffs? It would have had to have some kind of effect

Part of it is that there are several massive subdivisions going up.

Anyone who is going to move is probably trying to do it now before the market gluts.

I think that has something to do with it. There are also a lot of Zachary lifers who don’t like the growth and are fleeing north.

Define massive since part of the plant will still make paper for tissue, just no longer printer paper.

The partial closure put a big dent into Zachary's school district budget.

~750 people laid off out of 1000 employees

Pulp mill, woodyard and all fine paper machines and converting area are all gone.
The tissue and paper towel production is now from outsourced pulp... That's a huge downsizing

Kills me to see them carving up that land off 68/964 to build more neighborhoods. Zachary is gonna get crushed from the north and south. It’s nice cause it’s not overcrowded. But it sure seems to be headed that way

If you work downtown then Zachary no doubt. The traffic from Ascension is a beast.

Zachary school district is going to have to look somewhere else for money now. Expect increased taxes locally.

Spend the extra money and go to Rouse’s. Trust me on this. Zachary Walmart is like a 3rd world country these days.

Walmart Zachary has been godawful for years.

When the Baker Walmart seems like a reasonable alternative, there are issues.

Downtown BR

Will take you a good hour to get home every day. Commute would only be about 20 minutes from Zachary.

The people moving there think it's better than where they left. The natives think the newcomers are turning it into a shithole. Same as the Northshore

We have a Baker address but are I n Central school district. I go to the Baker Walmart pretty regularly and it’s head and shoulders above Zachary’s. My wife went to the one in Zachary the other day (on the 1st of the month making it that much worse). She was running errands over that way and didn’t realize how bad the Walmart had gotten. She ended up putting her stuff back and walking out.

My main problem is that they can’t stock the shelves worth a shite.

For a company which supposedly prides itself on great logistics, they can’t keep even basic shite on the shelves.
