Same as everthing else with democrats. Bring everything down to the bottom so we all have it, instead of releasing people to move upward.

Crime is one of the major drivers of the increase in housing costs. The large amount of crime has boxed normal people into small areas where they can live, massively increasing rent and purchase prices in these "safe" enclaves.

In many major cities, some of the best places to live geographically are unlivable by anyone but the dregs.

I also love how this idiot doesn’t realize this will negatively affect the very minorities he is trying to protect.

Lots of people work hard, thankless jobs and don't expect a tip. Also, plenty of landlords are absentee pieces of shite that can't even justify their rental prices.

I’m glad I no longer work on property. Covid was a nightmare. Somehow this would be worse

She sounds like an idiot who doesn't realize that a ton of landlords aren't rich and have mortgages to pay on their rental properties. Going to be in for a rude awakening when she finds out that landlords who are already going up on their rent because of insurance cost increases are going to raise the rent more to account for more frequent vacancies because she wants to give renters an easy way to escape a lease contract whenever they want.

Yep.

It would be really easy to switch everyone to month to month leases at double the “normal” rental rate. Then they won’t have a long lease that they need to break.

No way this passes, but it still makes me irrationally mad.

Just like our cops, firefighters, farmers, welders, and nurses, landlords are heroes for this country and they deserve our adoration and praise.

Rents will skyrocket. A landlord can install cameras, a security team 24/7, private entrances with card pass entry, etc. and every dime the LL spends will be passed through to the tenants. Then when vacancy rates increase because folks can't afford the rental rates, LL will spread those costs to the occupied spaces making rents increase even more.

Tolliver is stupid and has no idea how property management works.
