What say tOT? Started growth after New Years and it's getting kinda unkempt. I use the straight edge of my electric razor and most of the time it comes out uneven. Do I need to buy a kit? How do you bearded baws trim up?

This is the problem of men with a turkey neck.
Have a defined jaw and you have a natural stencil.

Wahl hair clippers with the guards. I usually keep mine around a #2 or #2.5 in the winter time. As far as the bottom, I can get it straight just by years of practice I guess.
Don't get the battery powered ones they are trash.

I have one of those, but don't use it for beard trimming.

I control the length with a beard trimmer and keep the edges clean with my regular razor.

Get you a good beard wash and beard oil. I use Cremo. It took a while to notice the effect but it has really helped my beard look more kempt.

i don't understand what difficulty you are having.

Just buy a decent trimmer. The 19.99 junk on TV is designed to last for a couple of months, then you have to buy another one. Phillips, Panasonic, and Wahl make trimmers that work well, and don't cost 100.00

I second this. I have the Wahl Peanut and it’s awesome.

Do like I do. Grow it out, attempt to trim, mess up, shave it all off.

First thing’s first: Is it a beard or is it one of those patchy sporadic pubic hair looking things youngins think a beard is?

I go to my beard guy once every 3 weeks or so. It's too long at this point for me to really be able to do it myself and not butcher it.
