Any professor in a grad level instruction class cancelling 15 times needs to be reported. If this in fact grad level econometrics, that would be nearly impossible to take without class time instruction. Something about this story sounds wrong. I couldn't imagine any situation in a graduate level environment similar to this that didn't get the attention of the department chair. Even in undergrad, professors are expected to hold class.

It's a 3000 level class intro to econometrics. I posted above I'm a provisional grad student. I've also posted how two students are in her class again because this happened the last semester. It's only a class of 8 people now. 3 have dropped already. Theres nothing fishy about it, I have no reason to lie.

This is just one screenshot. Surprisingly we had all 3 classes this week.

If the department is allowing this to occur, I'd think a meeting with someone in the college office would be necessary. Depending on how your school is structured, probably meet with your graduate advisor first. Keep those messages of classes cancelled.

I took Econmetrics for my Econ minor. Been a long time but from what I remember it was basically just statistics and regression analysis, stuff that was touched on in a bunch of other business courses I had to take like ISDS. So honestly she's right, if you hadn't gotten it by now you just werent gonna get it.

You would be surprised what going to a professor's office a few times can do.

Professors, especially those with tenure, are some of the most pompous and arrogant people in society today.

That approach will do nothing, going to her superiors could most certainly do something.

There's work you can do on your side of the fence (read a book, dumbass ) to help your situation BUT I'd also go to the department head and/or dean and lay your situation out NOW.

Don't email, make an appointment and go talk to them.

If you do it after the semester, it's sour grapes. If you do it NOW, it's CONCERN for a poor class situation that you're seeking advice on.

My guess is that their advice will be "go read a book, dumbass" but it will give you ammunition if you do have to go plead with someone at the end of the semester.

Maybe she’s taking a sabbatical to study the economics of alcoholism.

You’re definitely right, but I will say I’ve had success with an email at the end of the semester. I’d guess it has more to do with the strength of your case against the prof than anything else.

The professor sounds like they shouldn’t be teaching.

It also sounds like these discussions needed to start happening weeks ago

In fact, obtain said book now and go with “I’m trying to read this to help fill the gaps but with the large amount of teaching time we have missed I’m having a hard time connecting the concepts on my own- is there anything more you could recommend to help me succeed this semester”

Find a professor that doesn’t have a period?

I have a BS and Masters in accounting and NEVER counted on learning anything in class. I learned what I needed to get done from my textbook and study partners. Sounds like OP is a pussy who cant handle it and is looking for an excuse.

Meh. I get paid to go to school. Never thought I'd have any college, let alone be accepted into grad school. I'm just using education credits I have left over. You seem very educated btw, calling a stranger a pussy through the internet

She sounds fat, lazy and desperate for some male attention.

Looks like you are going to have to man up and have sex with her. Good luck.

A) bullshite. Undergrad econometrics has a multiple pre-reqs making it nearly impossible to take before your second year.

B) Undergraduate econometrics is WAY different than graduate econometrics.
