There's a few homeless nut jobs in Asheville.
Yep, because Asheville caters to them. Downtown is littered with 'em, which is one of the main reasons I avoid downtown as much as possible.

My wife carries her credit cards in a cell phone wallet and often leaves her purse in the car.

you also cannot apply deadly force once the situation de-escalates

You have to have legitimate reason to feel your life is in danger to escalate to deadly force.
How do you know she was trying to kill him though? I'd see it as she used her car to apprehend a criminal. Apprehending is not necessarily intent to kill or maim.

I can't. If you don't want to either get killed or risk getting killed, don't steal someone else's stuff? What's to say you don't go back for more or decide that they've seen you and must die or something like that? Don't want to die? Don't steal... especially from a pregnant lady.

Yeah, theft is not punishable by death.
She did not kill him. There is a reason they call it HER purse. As long as he has HER purse, the situation is not de-escalated.
Had he have had his own belongings and was digging in his own car, none of this ever happens.

The DA better sack up and toss those charges.
Meh, I'd prefer she be let off by a jury of her peers, but this would be fine too.

Yep. Simple cause/effect logic ends this case quickly with no conviction.

I can see both sides. What she did was the equivalent of shooting him while he was running away. I have zero pity for the thief, but you also cannot apply deadly force once the situation de-escalates.
Is he dead?

Isn't your car considered an extension of your home? Seems I heard that somewhere.

Yeah you can't do that.
(but lowkey I'm glad she did)

You can't run someone down with a car because they sripe your purse. Several years ago there was a Asian business owner who chased a shoplifter who stole a couple bottles of booze. Shop owner smoked the dude in the parking lot and he got 10 years. You can't run a guy down in the parking lot because he stole your purse. Yeah he's a shitbag buy better use your head too.
It's because of shite like this, there are so many criminals are out there. That guy STOLE HER PROPERTY and because of his actions, he got run over. If he doesn't steal her purse then he's not getting run over.
People like you always have to find a way to defend criminals that get harmed while committing a crime. I wouldn't care if she pulled an AR15 out of the back seat and smoked him across the parking lot. He's scum. He's the criminal.
I applaud her for having bigger balls than you and bringing justice to that tpos. Pussies that defend that criminal are why New Orleans and Baton Rouge are getting way out of hand.

I would hope for the charges to be dropped. Wouldn't want to take my chances with a prosecutor that can stack the jury full of snowflakes

Braswell is also facing a charge: misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon.
Thats a damn shame that they would charge the victim with a crime. Reminds me another victim that was charged with a crime after she went to the police to report a rape.

You are wrong about this. Apparently one can and she did. They perp is an embarrassment to the criminal community.
