Not sure if you're still upset about down votes but keep in mind a lot of people are looking at this on their phones and have fat fingers so it's not hard to accidentally hit the down vote button a few times out of a few hundred screen taps.

I just did this to Kantz' last post, unfortunately.
Prayers to everyone having babies in this thread. Becoming a father was the best thing that ever happened to me. It is an amazing job each and every day.

Question...boy or girl?

Those moments holding your child in the NICU will turn into a very special relationship.
Nothing truer could be said. My daughter spent 28 days in NICU. I would go hold her for 10-15 minutes every morning before work, 30 mins on my lunch break, and 30-60 minutes every night. That was some of the most amazing moments of my life, holding such a precious little angel that weighed less then 3 lbs. Now she is a firecracker and will be 5 on Saturday. Definitly a daddy's girl and always stuck at my hip no matter where I go or what i do.
Daughters are the greatest gifts to fathers.

We just keep receiving good news and I'm so thankful for everyone here who has been supportive.
Her levels continue to be stable now and the doctors have decided to do the blood panels every 24 hours now instead of every 12 hours so that my wife can get some relief from her anxiety. So Molly gets another full day inside mommy's tummy.
I cant wait to be a dad and I'm so happy that I've got the story of all you happy dads out there that have gone through similar things. Yall have truly inspired me. I hate sounding selfish, but it's been so hard watching my wife go through this. All of you fathers standing behind me have helped me be strong for my wife.
The OT is a crazy place, but sometimes it can come together and prove to be a really wondeful community.

Excellent news and glad to hear things are staying positive.
I can understand what you're going through, having nearly lost my wife and child during last pregnancy.
Nothing but positive thoughts and prayers headed your direction Kantz.. Stay strong brother.

Went through this with my first son.
He was 11 weeks pre-mature, and weighed 2 lbs. 11 3/4 oz. at birth. My wife got the steroid shots etc. to speed up lung development. We lost his twin in the process, but he got the little bit of extra time to get stronger, even if it was only a few days.
When I got to take him home 50 days later, he was a whopping 4 lbs. 5 oz. He would roll up in my hand - literally, and I could carry him around like a little football.
Today, he's 18. He's a governor's scholar and Presidents academic scholarship recipient at Kentucky. Great kid, we were, and continue to be very blessed.
God is good. Everything will work out exactly as it should, and I can't wait to hear how great everyone is after it's all said and done. Prayers continue for your family!

Went through this with both mine. Both were born at 26wks, spent about 55 days in the NICU at Women's Hospital. Today they are just fine and enjoying life.
Prayers are huge and I have plenty, so I'll send some your way!! And may God bless!

We're on day 49 in NICU with our nephew born at 27 weeks, so I also love hearing these stories. I think we're at 3.8 lbs now. He was a good bit under 2 lbs when born.

She is a beautiful little girl....
You know, TD is full of Internet assholes but when it counts this place is full of love and support. I never thought reading the OT would make me cry....thank you guys so much for the prayers and the support for my husband...who is the best father I have ever seen.
Kantz-hang in there, I hope Molly keeps cooking for as long as possible. Even hours make a difference now. Sending love your way from left coast---

It's got it's ups and downs. I've forgotten the downs. 2 boys, 38 and 40. I couldn't be prouder. 3 granddaughters now and I'm back to my younger days of fun and blessings when I'm with them.
