Since everyone is chiming in, I think the correct title should be “ possible tropical development in GOM July 1st”.

That's the GFS off in Fantasy Land again. It is pretty good for sniffing out conditions that are favorable for tropical development but not much good for track and intensity. So If and that is a big IF, this were to develop the models that are better for the track are the Euro model and Euro ensembles. I am not a big fan of the GFS at all.
