Posted On Monday 6/21/2021: There are three items that we are keeping a close eye on -
1. Tropical Storm Claudette, which is now heading away from the North Carolina coast and into the North Atlantic where it will weaken and dissipate within the next day or so.
2. Tropical Disturbance located around 900 miles to the East-Southeast of the Windward Islands. This disturbance does have a chance to develop into a short-lived tropical depression or storm before strong wind shear leads to its weakening near the Lesser Antilles later this week. This disturbance may have another opportunity at development in the western Caribbean early next week.
3. A very strong tropical disturbance is expected to push off of the coast of Africa by this coming weekend and does have a chance to develop next week as it heads westward across the Eastern and Central Tropical Atlantic.
