Potato peels in garbage disposal

My dads dumb gf wants to prove me wrong and stick potato skins down our garbage disposal. She is doing it because my apartments stopped working and claims since this is a new one you can stick potato skins in it

Unless you Iive in a condo, or a high-rise, you shouldn't be using a garbage disposal. Compost that stuff, or toss it in the trash and bring to the curb. its even worse if you have a modad or a septic tank.

Just did it a few days ago - no problems. In fact, I think the peels help clean everything out.

It’s because of the starch in the peels it creates a paste on the blades and it gums them up
