That press conference was about the monuments and trying to bring the divided city together. Yeah I highly dislike Mitch and think he went about this wrong, but for people to say the 'black' community doesn't have people doing everything they possibly can deep in 'their' community to stop something so shitty as the violence that is plaguing it is just ignorant and most likely rednecks that haven't been to these neighborhoods. I promise you there are great people doing everything they can against almost impossible odds. And to think that they possibly see the statues as a minor win means they don't care about the 'real' problems is just dead wrong.

I've been saying it for years. We need to give a financial incentive to poor people to get sterilized. Give them a lump sum check for several grand they can use as they see fit to better their lives. It'll prevent them from having kids they can't afford. And one day when they become responsible and no longer on the govt tit, they can adopt one of the thousands of children in deplorable foster care and adoption centers.
