My freshman year in the dorms was one of the best years of my life. First day everyone had their doors open and was walking around introducing themselves. Instant friends that made it a great start to a college career.

I was in state but only a few from my class went to UW. Many didn't get in and went to Minnesota (with whom we have reciprocity).

My room in Hatcher Hall is circled in red.

Fourth floor, next to the back stairwell. The upper deck of Tiger Stadium wasn't there back then. Visiting team buses parked between the stadium, and our dorm. We "Tiger baited" the players as they unloaded.

Hatcher Hall was air-conditioned. Johnson and Hodges, on either side, were not. People still lived in the stadium dorms then too. It wasn't air-conditioned either.

Brumby was where all of the fine girls lived. I would have killed live there. I was down the hill at Creswell.

Witte Hall at Wisconsin

Reminds me a little of Olin Hall at UL-Monroe.

It was a long dorm that was 13 stories tall. It was more ghetto, because it was like a motel, instead of a hotel. The rooms opened to the outside.

It's no longer there. They imploded it. (on Youtube)

They all seem to be 1950s style buildings.

ETA: Witte and Sellery actually both opened mid 60s

Me too. 1986. North Stadium. 4th floor. No air conditioning and shared showers and bathroom. I figure the Mesothelioma will kick in soon but great memories.

That's insane that LSU dorms didn't have AC. Bordering on cruel and unusual. And I assume you had you beds lofted so you were sleeping up by the ceiling where all the hot air was?

No. I was just the lucky one that had my bed nearest to the window with box fan blowing all night.

What year at Paty? It was a dump...and I wouldn't trade that year for anything.

Chitwood-Weymouth Complex
Texas Tech
Lubbock, TX

The two towers are connected by a shared lobby. Chitwood is all female & Weymouth male. Near the end of the 1997 spring semester, the D.E.A. raided the 8th floor & arrested four guys in connection with drug trafficking. Good times!
