Happen before. 1996 GITR, was fishing about 60 miles offshore and had one form up over me. 2.5 hour ride turn into a 6 hour ride back in that day.

These shake-n-bake storms that develop in the GOM have been known to wreak havoc.

That’s happened to me more times than I care to remember. Sucks so bad you have to stand up and take waves and rain to the face it feels like you’re being waterboarded for 3-4 hours

That one did. Many sank boats that day. Was a Friday and the rodeo was a wash out as far as fish. Did take 3rd in one place.

That rodeo starts this Thursday.

Yep. Going down Thursday. Not going offshore this year. Staying in the bay and passes.

And Arties

"within the next five days."

Barry had the same percentage of forming five days out as well. Don't disregard just because it's at 20% today. In three days as the model progresses, it might be up to 80%.

Gave up fishing that rodeo and swapped over to Venice after they split. Mr Cleo did good doing that.

Happened to us Saturday. 22 Miles south of Timbalier in a 21' Hydrasport. Fastest we could go was 10 mph. Steady 4-5's with a few 6's thrown in. Was a miserable 2 plus hour ride back. Everyone on board had the salty wet arse.

That day I was taking splashing up on the flybridge and waves over the bow.

I thought you meant that tropical depression east of Florida at first. Now I see what you mean with the 5 day forecast... Time to panic.

You are aware that there is no requirement on TD to post in the weather threads correct? Chicken won’t even force you to read them.
