But why do you think this is unique to black people?
Because black people did it in an era where spices were abundant.

Were spices so abundant in the 1200's, it may have been a cultural aspect of white Euros.

Yes, it was seasoned. I've actually made the dish from the Apicius cookbook.

And it's still chicken that has been fried in fat, hence fried chicken.

Why do people care so much if African people get credit for something?

Because it isn’t true.

That’s like saying Cleopatra was black.

Spice caravans from the orient had been around since before the crusades. They were just expensive. The romans used salt as currency because of its value.

Spices are hardly unique to sub-Saharan Africans.

I’m sure the concept of dunking a chicken in hot oil was stumbled upon by many people in many time periods, wherever chickens were available

Are you saying that poor blacks in America had less, or the same level of access to spices as Ancient Romans or Middle Ages Euros?

Because, if so,

Blacks in America spice their food in a manner completely unlike Africans. . .and we are talking about the spicing habits of black Americans.

The fact that Africans invented what we know as fried chicken is a separate discussion

But we rely upon evidence for proof. Recipes,
Mentions in literature, etc.

And there is no evidence of sub-Saharans deep frying anything prior to the new world.

No one is saying that there haven’t been black people who made contributions to culinary history, but claiming that “black people invented fried chicken and soul food” when the evidence doesn’t support that is just silly.

Soul food is just southern cuisine. It’s associated with blacks because during the great migration after the War, they brought southern cuisine with them to Yankee land, and Yankees associated it with blacks.

And then 5th Avenue and Hollywood went with that and perpetrated the stereotype further

Doesn't say anything about fried chicken. Bushmeat is growing in popularity though. Liberian Cuisine

So, in your comparison, which one was better and why was it Popeyes?

I liked the Popeyes more. The breading and seasoning was better, but the meat was a little dryer. The pickle on top was a great accent too. The CFA sandwich was good too, but it wasn't the same level as the Popeyes, if I'm being honest.

They do know that fried chicken was invented by the scots-Irish, right?

Asians have been frying chicken since before Jesus and was the area where deep frying originated. China and Japan say hello.

But our fried chicken isn't anything like American south fried chicken any more than chinese noodles and vegetables is like spaghetti and meatballs.

The fact is Popeyes has this chicken sandwich game on lock down. Their sandwich is a homerun.

The Cane's talk is a joke. Their fingers are salty not seasoned and their "sandwich" of three fingers on a bun is lame af. Cane's is the worst of the finger chains. Zaxby's and Popeyes kill Canes for tenders.

You want to open up an Irish fried chicken joint have at it. Have fun going up against MacDonalds buttermilk crispy chicken tenders.

Words have meaning. The claim that african americans brought fried chicken to America, and is therefore "theirs", is categorically false.

Whatever, let them have fried chicken if it will keep them from being offended for the next five minutes.
