Yes but I also know that the laws are not enforced like they should be.

Sounds like your claim is government is incompetent. Your beef is with them not "the rich".

We will likely agree complete on this one. I absolutely hate property taxes and the appraisal process. I don't want to start malding about HCAD.

If every individual was forced to write a check each quarter for their income taxes, we would have a lot more civic engagement on how and where tax dollars are allocated.

Nice dodge. If there's no risk, skill, nor value involved.

I like to think so but being rich is not the top of my priority list. I do okay for myself and see no reason to wokr even more.

Time is the most finite commodity we have and I don't want to spend even more of it working.

Speaking of naivate. This is exceptionally rare, and FEDGOV smacks the isth out of employers that do it.

We'd likely have a violent revolution.

That’s on local assessors, and usually due to corruption. It doesn’t have to be difficult, but they make it difficult on purpose in order to increase their power and influence.

The IRS spends around $10 billion dollars processing income tax returns and investigating fraud. That’s enough to fund more than 1/3 of the federal budget for highway operations and maintenance.

NAh. You claimed putting capital at risk isn't worth of reward or value.

Right. Your limiter is you. Not "rich" people.

Dude... if you are going to lie about shite like this you have to make the numbers work. The maximum SNAP benefit for a family of six is $921. If you are lying about that you are probably lying about the rest of it too.

There's plenty of ways to game the assessors.

Well, if they are recovering less than that, they should stop. That said... there's an entire industry in TX built around challenging and beating the taxing authorities at their assessments. No idea what someting like HCAD spends on appeals but, it's sure not zero. Damn near EVERYONE appeals their assessment every year.

I can't imagine how chaotic it would be do this at the federal level. Wanna have to go to DC to fight your (almost entirely subjective) assessment? No thanks.

You're clueless. If you've withheld taxes and don't pay them you're going to get caught. And they are merciless when it happens.

Wait, I am a Marxist for pointing out abuses in the tax system?
