Shootings happen daily in BR. Why do those on this board act like it’s news? You’re trying to prove BR has a shooting/killing problem but EVERYONE already knows the problem exists. So why do you keep pushing it like nobody believes?

There’s a damn substation on Highland Rd located in the Bottom, let alone the substation located right in DT BR, off of 3rd St ?

I don't know if it is true, but I was told brpd doesn't always have people in their buildings now

That's interesting, if true. It's almost like they are treating the stations as outposts in no man's land at this point.

So news has to be something that doesnt happen often or what?

I would think people getting shot and killed is newsworthy

That's literally the definition of news.

That's right in front of Our Lady of Mercy

The victim was running down Government bleeding everywhere as I was about to turn into OLOM for 10:30am mass.

It was around 10:20-10:25am.

His car prolly had a dozen or so bullet holes in it.

I stopped in the middle lane and dialed 911. I thought it was a car accident. The 911 operator said it was a shooting and that's when I noticed the bullet holes.

We got the hell out of there on the quickness once realizing it was an active shooting situation.

ETA: Someone posted a luxury car was involved. I didn't see the shooters, only the victim, and I drive a 100k SUV and was stopped 30ft from the vehicle that got shot. Decent chance I'm the luxury vehicle they are talking about.

You should make a poster and go take a stand in front of the news station

They did the same thing to a girl I know. A single woman living alone. She sat in the hallway with a pistol watching the front door.

In BRPD’s defense, they probably only had three officers on duty out of a ten person shift because all the others quit, and the few on duty were tied up on a shooting or carjacking.

You can only do so much when you’re working with 50% of your manpower.

The news reports it because they get views. I have no issue with news stations reporting it. What I’m trying to figure out is what point this board tries to make by posting every shooting. Or who they are trying to convince? We all know shootings happen daily.

Finally? College drive has been dealing with it a few times last year and early this year.

In my opinion, much of College Dr is already unsafe and has been for years. I don’t live in Baton Rouge, though so I don’t see it all the time.
