Now let’s dig in more. Why so much black on black crime?

i don't understand why police reform and police brutality are becoming a controversial issue. holding cops accountable benefits us all.

Reversing militarization of the police, doing away with "no knock" (and other vestiges of the war on drugs) and eliminating qualified immunity would be huge steps in fixing police misconduct.

It is all about expectations. The black community accepts and expects to be murdered by their own. The expect to not be killed when in police custody.

These seem accurate and reasonable.

Police brutality is a problem. It's just not the only problem or even the biggest problem.

Wrong. Brutality most certainly is a problem. I know good white people who have been assaulted, without warning, because a good ole boy thought they had done something they did not do. Then they get charged with "resisting arrest". However, they say the first thing they thought of was, "Thank God I'm not black."

tell that to the 120 pound female cop when the 250 pound perp has her on the ground choking her out, or pounding the side of her face in

Let's face it, if she ended up in this position maybe she shouldn't be a cop. She has numerous tools at her advantage, such as a taser, that can prevent this from happening.

What's more the point from your example is we have unqualified and/or untrained police.

Police brutality is always a problem, because we grant them the authority they have to protect and serve. That said, it is actually improving, but this "movement" will set it back years.

What respectable young family man in their right mind would want to be a cop these days? Now there is a target on your back from both sides. You will only get extremest applying now.

And if it's the 10 unarmed black people killed by police last year you are talking about, I believe 6 of those were 100% justified. So it's really 4. If that's what you were referring to.

And one was right here in good ole EBR!

Have you been watching the news? Any police officer that escalates regardless of the circumstances, is accused of brutality, racism, etc.

What about the black guy that was shot last year who went through three police tasers before being put down?

A ton of them have rightly been accused of brutality.

Obviously there are going to be situations where it is necessary, and that is likely one. In an ideal world a police officer would never need to shoot an unarmed person, but the world isn't ideal. If de-escalation tactics and non-deadly force was taken and the officer is still in danger, than there is only one other option. That's a crucial part of all the criminal justice reforms platforms I've seen.

Black on black inner city murder rate is the bigger issue. But none of them will be honest with the problems in their community. Thousands of black lives are taken each year due to this vs what less than 10 due to improper police decisions...

If Black people have been denying crime in inner city, then who the hell has been making all this noise about Black-on-Black violence for the past 30 years? It sure looked like Black people (mentioning Black on Black violence) and they've appeared very concerned and alarmed about it.

If what you say is true, not only do we have a Black-on-Black violence problem, we've also had a large number of non-Black people posing as Black people reporting the information. The implication of your assertion is: what we think are Black people are often Soviet, Chinese or Alien infiltrators designed to be a convincing facsimile and they're here in very large numbers! If they can get start posing as Black people, they can get to other demographics as well.

I have a message for ALL people. Stop breaking the law..... this was a bad cop and did a bad thing. The other officers there are just as guilty because they stood there and did nothing. However Floyd was no Prince Charming. Having said that, most people are not gonna trust ANY police officer just because they do not know if they will end up like Floyd. And that is sad.

So, we are really down to two black men last year. We need a massive reform for two black men and even more white men?

And in that reform, how would you fix it?
