Both can be problems, but the idea that policemen and police departments are endemically racist, and hunting down black men is not supported by any statistics.
It's a completely false narrative based on nothing but emotions and ignorance that are allowed to run unchecked and unchallenged. And we see what happens when someone tries to challenge the BLM movement with facts -- they get steamrolled and nuked into oblivion.

Its definitely a problem.
Its not a racial problem though.
This is correct. Although I think if you were to say this in public discourse you'd have your life ruined for being a 'racist'

Yeah. All those murders in Shenandoah every year making the nightly news...

Let's get one thing straight. There should be zero deaths of any unarmed person.
Not true.
Unarmed persons can still be a threat to ones' life.

i don't understand why police reform and police brutality are becoming a controversial issue.
Because all too often, people will LIE about their encounters with the police for starters.
Perhaps if minorities didn't cry "racism" at the drop of a fking hat, intelligent people would be more sympathetic.

And in that reform, how would you fix it?
There is NO answer for this. The problems are created when the generalizations are made after an incident, and people start to believe those incorrect proclamations.
are all cops bad...of course not.
are all lawyers bad.....no...but a bad comparison!!
are all teachers bad...or course not.
But when something bad happens, and it is suddenly proclaimed that there is "systematic racism", or ALL of them are racist, then the problems really starts.
in this case, all of the cops have been fired, and arrested. they will face charges. Honestly, what else do you want? again, in this case, it will be comical of the main cop gets off because the DA is virtue signaling and charging a higher crime...
let the system run its course.

I don't know if I'd call it a bigger issue, but you're correct. 63% of violent crime against blacks are by other blacks while 57% of violent crime against whites are by other whites. It's almost like you're most likely to deal with violence from the people you hang out with on a daily basis or something.

Police brutality and killings are not a black only problem or even more of a black problem than a problem for other races. They just get the most publicity, media coverage, outrage, riots, and looting.
But yes black on black violence and killings are bigger issues.

In theory, yes. But I'm sorry, if you aren't armed and you just straight up rush a cop and try to take his gun, you are probably going to get shot. If you are unarmed and trying to run over a cop in your car, you will be shot.
Well, if you take a cops gun you are no longer unarmed, when you use your vehicle as a weapon, you are no longer unarmed.
And yes, more whites are killed by cops every year and more whites are killed by blacks than blacks by whites.

if you believe this, you're just in denial. it's a problem around the country no matter what race you are.

The problem is the ones they have been killed werent though. Thats what this is about. The 5-10 black people killed while unarmed.
Them trying to throw a trayvon or alton sterling in their doesn fit these scenarios. Its just them throwing names out to get the numbers up.

Yeah. Brutality is also not solely encompassed by unjustified, unarmed shootings. Black people are harassed a lot. Police tend to treat black folks and white folks differently. There are many reasons for that, not all of which are purely racial. But the point remains. A study conducted of the Houston police department found that black people were like 4x more likely to be victims of excessive force than white folks. How many of those violations are because the alleged perpetrator resisted arrest? I don’t know. The kill rate is actually worse for white folks, though, when taking into consideration the number of police encounters by white and black people.
So it is far more grey than what people like to think. Brutality is a problem in the black community, though, whether executed by police or by neighbors.
