this now seems like just boring news compared to the usual melting and lies by the press over trump derangement, but this would have once been all that was talked about at one time, now its not even being discussed except for about the 5 minutes it was first reported on.

does anyone think this put any "real" change on the horizon as far as organized crime or is it just a speed bump before they are back to business as usual? it sure isnt much money seized at all for the amount of money they control thats for sure

Not really. In that area, yes.

What I find surprising is that they are using pretty much the classic ways of the mob that was being used here in the US in the early 1900s all the way into the 90s.

I don't think law enforcement ever adapted(or wanted to) as ours did here in order to cripple the mob.

I think they were too in bed with the mob and there's less power to go around in places like Italy and Germany. In the US you had a lot of powerful men with no relation to the mob, and the US could manufacture more powerful men with its mega economy. Mobsters simply couldn't keep up with the growing US economy, just didn't have the man power.

Thats my guess at least.

The mafia is still very alive in Sicily. They really don't like to talk about the current state of the mafia out of fear. They do talk about the Godfather movies and about old school mob. at least that was my impression a few years ago.
