Despite what you will read on the internet about eating the leaves to develop immunity, my highly-regarded local pharmacy (you Arkansas alums will know Collier's) sells capsules made from poison ivy leaves. They sell a lot of them to powerline workers this time of year and they seem to work.
I'm largely immune myself so haven't tried them.

No. Go to Urgent Care and get steroids.

Rinse the area in hot water (as hot as you can possibly stand it), and then wash with Tecnu soap, and then rinse again in hot water.
The hot water will help the oil release from the skin.

I’m highly allergic to poison ivy and the best relief I have gotten is from Zanfel.

More important thing is a cold shower. Don’t take a hot shower that will cause it to be worse.

Zanfel... it's the ONLY product that I actually recommend to my patients for poison ivy.... heads and shoulders the best product available....
it's not cheap, but it's more than worth the money

Scrub exposed areas with rubbing alcohol as soon as possible after exposure. Point is to get the oils from the poison ivy plant off the skin asap.

When you're working in the yard, wash down with Dawn regularly. It will cut the oil and remove it from your skin before irritation occurs.

Technu poison ivy scrub. Found at Walmart.

Walmart makes a Benadryl anti-itch spray that helps a lot. Also go get that shot from your doctor

Zanfel works but holy balls, it’s expensive

Zanfel.
Even at Walmart a tube costs $40 but it is well worth it.
Use it according to directions and as soon as possible after exposure.
My son was highly allergic to poison ivy but this stuff was a life saver.

Soon after exposure, use Dawn liquid soap and a bristle brush and scrub the area thoroughly, SCRUB! The rash is caused by an OIL in the plant and when you get the oil off you won't be itching garanteed.

I use Tecnu Extreme scrub in the shower to clean it and then Ivarest lotion after my shower as well as before I go to bed. Works very well for me.

Always glad I'm immune to that stuff. Used to prank some friends bad with it.

when I was younger I could get poison ivy just by opening this thread, my uncle used to tease me by grabbing handfuls of it and rubbing it on his face

I used to grind up Benadryl and mix the powder with 1% cortisone cream. Benadryl is cheap which is good because you need a lot to grind to powder.
1. Spread powder on affected area covering it.
2. Cover the area with the cortisone/Benadryl powder mix.
3. Cover area with gauze.
Twice a day, maybe three times depending on severity.

I got absolutely ravaged by poison Ivy rash a few years back after clearing away years of heavily overgrown brush at my dad’s house. Both of my wrists completely covered up to mid forearms, the entire circumference of my midsection, and both ankles/feet. It was fricking miserable. Took over a year to completely get rid of it. I still get tingling sensations around the areas it infected when I’m around poison Ivy, almost like a spidey sense.
I used this stuff below to clear away the rash and also cortisone for the itch. Wrapped the infected areas with gauze so prevent more spreading and avoid itching/irritation. I looked like I was halfway mummified. Had to change the wraps daily so it could air out and heal faster. Probably used 10 bottles of the ointment and cortisone, as well as a hundred yards of gauze. Never fricking with poison Ivy again.
