Depending on where the bumps are located and how much is on you, best way is hot water
Start out with luke warm water and run it over the problem area and keep increasing them temp to the point you can tolerate it. You will feel the intense itch for a few minutes but after about 2-5 minutes it goes away.
Doing this method will drain the histamine from the cells in that area for about 10-12 hours. Much better than the 4-6 hours of relief a histamine blocker gives you.

When it does itch, get water running as hot as you can stand it. Run the affected area under the hot water.
Enjoy the orgasmic instant itch relief.
And your pores opening up to release the posion to spread.

I have found calamine lotion to work pretty decent. also wiping with a cotton ball with alcohol. outside of that just mind over matter.

This is my routine. Seems to work fairly well. From various sources.
Try to limit your contact to the poison ivy, poison oak etc. (wear gloves, long pants, long sleeve shirt, etc.). Immediately upon entering your house undress. Wash your hands and forearms with warm soapy water. Rinse well. Wash your hands and forearms with cold soapy water. Repeat hand and forearms washing cycle two or three times. Works for me!

If you know that you were exposed then take a shower immediately with Dawn soap. It will remove the urushiol before it has a chance to bond with your skin. After it bonds (30min - 1hr) there isn't much you can do.
If i even suspect i contacted some or was in the same area then i stop what im doing and grab the dawn.
Zanfel works the same way. If you catch it early it works.
The hot water trick works to release the histamine and the itch for a little while but it wont make it heal any faster. Feels great though.

There is some lotion I bought a month ago at a Publix that helped my son with the itching. Ivarest is the brand, and just looked it up, it has calamine, benzyl alcohol, and diphenhydraming (benadryl) as the active ingredients.
He got into it in some woods on a camping trip one weekend, and the itching didn't start until a few days later. We got home on a Sunday morning and Tuesday afternoon he started itching.

That's not how this works.
Poison ivy is only spread by the oils from the plant itself.

Sure. Go ahead and scratch the rash and then your balls.

Go to urgent care and make them give you a shot. It will make it go away faster

I just pop the bumps and drain the nasty yellow things and then put some cream on the spots. Been doing it for years and makes it go away instantly!

long time PI aficionado here, I believe everyone's body reacts differently, from being almost deathly allergic to not at all and anywhere in between, the body also changes over time

OR.............tell your wife that the doctor told you multiple BJ's a day works great. What do you have to lose?

Another thing, why does it wait to itch when you are trying to enjoy a good night's sleep?

To treat waves of extreme itching, put the affected area under hot water from the sink or shower. Get the water as hot as you feel comfortable. The biting will hurt at first but your body will adapt to heat and the burning and itching will go away. You’ll have to repeat this regularly for a couple of days until the itching subsides. Take Benadryl for sleep.
