It's about 2 miles from the trash of Gardere. In BR, that's probably about the furthest you can get from a Gardere-esque area.

Said to eventually have three pools, a chapel, motel for guests, community gardens, etc.
Place will go bankrupt. Book it.

I’m surprised UC and the surrounding hoods haven’t been victimized more by the dregs surrounding them.
Some of you are so out of touch

Sorry for my ignorance, but what is Gardere?
Gardere is a ghetto neighborhood south of LSU in the middle of what is otherwise a decent area of the city. It's a bunch of old run down 4 plexes. Gardere Lane cuts right through it.

It wasn’t bad in the 90’s. But, that was when they had a strong HOA presence.

Too close to Gardere for my taste

A shared chapel sounds like a place for the fancy jean acoustic guitar types to set up
I heard tell of one of the churches in my neighborhood having a contemporary service so we mobilized the neighborhood watch to shut it down. We cleaned the gel out of the preachers hair with a little water boarding and he saw the light and preached Christianity correctly

As the crow flies it's less than a mile from Gardere off streets and the poo factory. No thanks.

I expect the ben hur area to turn in to gardere in the next 25 years. It has happened to every big development around LSU. Chimes/Aster area, Gardere, Tigerland, brightside. Burbank area is next then ben hur.

This sounds like it will be directly across the street from Gardere. I wonder what the plans are to keep the day time burglars from wandering over.
A great question, when you consider L'Auberge itself has an EBRSO substation on its property and some funny business still happens, once in a while....

I like having a foyer
foyer information, the OT considers that to be a waste of space, and trashy!

Goal is to create a 30A-like location, but without the nice beaches.

The long range plans for Gardere are to eliminate Gardere. I wish this area was still bean fields for dove hunting.

Good Lord- they used to have some serious birds down there, back in the good old days. That was THE COUNTRY.

Once completed homeowners will enjoy trying to exit that place. lol
I’m more thrown that they have a section called “Artist Colony.”
