frick the skinny people. Let your fat spill over into their seat and enjoy the ride.

I've had Karens do a stage-sigh and an eyeroll because my 6'4" 250 arse meant that they had to sit by a person instead of a skeleton. Makes a better flight for me because I don't have to worry about imposing on a nice person. My knee is in her personal space for the entire flight. Moan at me again and I'll make you get up so I can make an unneeded trip to the rest room.

Step 1: Get a woman to virtue signal this bullshite by saying someone like Lizzo is "beautiful".

Step 2: Agree and tell said woman she's beautiful just like Lizzo.

Enjoy the lulz.

Oh, probably shouldn't try this with your wife.

No problem with this. Hate sitting next to people whose fat spills over into my seat.

Incredible how people choose to be obese and actively avoid exercising

This. Even after the mass hysteria of covid, people still refuse to lose weight and exercise. I'll never understand it.

You should have to pay based on your weight. Takes alot more fuel to fly those fat asses round.

We went cave exploring and before you go in, you have to crawl thru a steel box. If you don't fit, you can't go into the cave.

at mesa verde national park theres a cave dwelling tour where you have to squeeze thru a narrow opening to get to it. at the head of the trail theres a similar steel box.

no different than the bag size checker at the gate...

it's a decent starting point, but more needs to be done. I'm tired of seeing plus sized models. I'm tired of my customers bitching, because their fatty prescriptions drugs are too expensive. IT IS TIME. We must declare an all out war on fatasses.

Get your fatass out of the middle of the Walmart beer aisle, while we are at it!!!!!

I consider myself to be a big guy, but even I don't take up two seats on an airplane. I don't have a problem for someone like in the photo that was posted a few pages ago, having to pay for two seats.

I actually don't mind this. If you have to force someone next to you to not have his or her space, then it's an issue. If I purchase 2 seats though, I better get extra bags (for the second seat) and the seat better be clear and not try to squeeze someone on standby into the seat I paid for.

That being said, I do think airline seats are too small but the alternative would be roomier seats and higher prices.

I tend to be a very compassionate person, but the reality is airline's cannot manufacture custom seats for large people. If you are so big that you require two seats, then you need to purchase two seats. If anyone should bear the additional burden of one's weight as a disability to travel, then it is the person themself.

Accommodation must be reasonable - - but reasonable is a two-way street...and it is not reasonable to expect anything different. There are other means of travel...bus, train, boat....my point is, you are not entitled to air travel. I am not entitled to air travel. Obey the rules.

Right, my disability is that I’m claustrophobic. I need the whole plane to myself. Sorry, airline company you must accommodate my needs.

That’s ridiculous and I didn’t do it to myself. It’s bad enough I’ve got to cover the health care for these out of control no self discipline people but now they want me to subsidize their leisure travel?

i wanna see a box at the ticket counter similar to the carry on box, but with seat measurements.

passengers who cant pass through the box without touching the sides, need to buy a second ticket......

This article is ridiculous. If most people were 170 lbs, they'd look like Holocaust victims. I played football in high school and was 185 then. I looked like Skeletor! If I got back down to that weight I'd probably blow away in the wind.

I'm a tall guy and can't fit in a regular seat so I pay extra for more legroom and a bigger seat. Why can't fat people do the same? I can't help being tall, but most fats can help being fat. Suck it up butterballs.

A person may not be “entitled” to air travel, but companies that provide public accommodation are subject to laws like the ADA. I don’t believe right now that simply being overweight or even “obese” are considered to be disabilities, but IF the Airlines really start pushing this hard that will likely be a battleground.

Fwiw, maybe I’m crazy but it seems to me that airlines sell a ticket to a person.

I consider myself to also be compassionate. But this issue to me is pretty black and white.

I was once squeezed between a person who needed a seatbelt extender and a 6ft+ man with very broad shoulders. Full flight, no other seats I could move to. I sat sideways the whole time and it was extremely uncomfortable. Had I been anyone but a petite human, three people would not have fit in that row.

It actually caused an un-safe environment if we had experienced air turbulence etc., I don't think I would have survived un-harmed.

My vote here is a standard policy that requires passengers to purchase an additional seat if they cannot safely sit in one. Allowing them to take half of my seat now makes it un-safe for me.
