Why does almost everything in a service manual have torque specs, many of them different?
So you tighten it enough for the seal etc, but not over tighten and snap the bolt off or strip it.

I use mine (impact driver) all the time because I have a lot of wood fencing, decking uses. Its also great for loosening bolts that have been on for a while, if you're patient.

My drill, OTOH, gets ruined by my wife and daughter when they try to use it as the impact driver is intended for. They have messed up the chuck on two of my drills by trying to use the little impact driver bits to screw a board to something for whatever stupid stuff they do by the barn that is don't want to know about.

Ive completely rebuilt multiple vehicles from top to bottom.

Impact drills and electric ratchets keep my wrists, hands, and arms from getting destroyed.

Go Gaggle on a dick and get fricked Faggle

OP reminds me of HAL in 2001 A Space Odessy.

I do enjoy looking up a torque spec and using a torque wrench rather than just going with the german method - guten tight.

Apparently you don't know much about vehicles and torque specifications.

In fairness, I have never seen a torque spec for items around a house or a non-commercial vehicle I couldn't produce by hand. I always apply the final torque by hand anyway, as you should. The only thing I use an impact gun for is removal or spinning down to snug already started lug nuts, mainly because it is satisfying.

ETA I do feel the OP's pain though. There is nothing worse than following a ham-fisted car mechanic who way over-tightened every bolt they touched.

I'll use my battery Bosch impact on lugs anytime I want. That thing is handy as a shirt pocket.

Spec on the centerloks are 450#, so I need a 4' torque wrench.
