I have no way to prove this, but I suspect Mardi Gras is a net positive for NO proper.

For a lot of people, its like a football game, it is a reason for friends and family to get together and have fun.

When you’re fresh outta college visiting with a group of friends walking around with camelbacks full of whiskey and coke getting black out drunk gorging yourself on endless gumbo and po’ boys from street vendors smoking blunts in broad daylight pissing on the sides of houses throwing cheap beads at wonderful sluts who in return show your their tits good or bad young or old perky or saggy arguing and fighting with locals marching around city blocks in a jazz ensemble private parade that started off with 20 people and ends up with hundreds of friends and strangers buying cocaine cut with mostly another unknown substance that lights your nostrils on fire off some black fella and eventually miraculously finding your way back to the Airbnb at 5am then passing out on a couch waking up and doing it all over again…well baw, if that ain’t what you’d call fun, then chances are you’re probably doing pretty well in life and are better off for it.

Marching bands are the best part. Kids enjoying the throws is also a positive.

Not saying you are "wrong, per se", but that's oddly specific. Glad you made it back to your Airbnb safely.

They aren't. Parades are ridiculous. I did NOLA MG once and that was enough. It wasn't fun.

It's fun for one weekend (Endymion and Bacchus). After Bacchus, I've had my fill.

I just read that a Cleopatra float is presently stuck on a tree.

Cleopatra should be punished next year and not allowed to start at Jefferson and Magazine.

Alla didn't get started until after 10 due to that float.

I’m not a parade fan but I’ve always loved Mardi Gras in New Orleans

One of my favorite memories in life is from Mardi Gras in New Orleans with my best friend. Cherished Memories
This was early nineties. New Orleans was so much fun back then!!

Well it varies greatly, but for me it’s the cool buzz, the noise, the groove, food, and chatter.

Younger days add in some legit crazy thugs.

I contend this was amongst his contentious yet perspicacious assertions. To which I wholly and utterly concur.

Cleopatra and Alla shouldn't even be rolling on the east bank, those were Algiers parades. The name ALLA comes from Algiers, Louisiana. Might as well call it NOLA on the east bank. RIP Blaine Kern, Sr.

Mardi Gras is more fun when there are more neighborhood parades and more people have access to them near the homes of their friends and families.

I didn't want to get into that argument, lol, but valid point.

Alla has hopped all over. Didn't they initially ride on 1st Sunday afternoon after moving Uptown?

Cleopatra may be going the route of Nyx by growing way too big, way too fast.
