Mardi Gras is great.

MG parades were fun when I was a kid. Now, I couldn't care less about them. Maybe I'm burned out on MG. Otherwise, I can't explain it.

You get to hang in traffic to get to the event.
Old days people drank a lot making a$$ clowns of themselves, you drank a few to do the same thing, and saw nice titties for the price of cheap beads.
That was entertaining.

Only one I've been to was in North Louisiana years ago and it wasn't but a bunch of good protestants with an excuse to get shite faced in public. Like 1983. Terrible experience.

I think with Mardi Gras, there's a sense of community and everyone in the city coming together to celebrate a common, non-political cause. The floats and beads are for the kids while the adults can hang out together, listen to the band music, and socialize.
I've often felt this way about a city like Nashville, though. What makes it such a happening city compared to other places? The traffic is horrible and after a weekend on Broadway, you've kind of seen what there is to see in the city.
And if you don't like drinking and country music that much, what is there even to do in a city like Nashville?

God forbid people wan't to go out and enjoy the day doing something different. Hanging out with neighbors and fellow friends.
