Come on, man. It's likely Yiddish, which used the Hebrew script. Looks nothing like Arabic.

I would love to be able to see what life was like in those enclave neighborhoods (Jewish, black, Irish, Italian, etc.) in those days. I just think that stuff is so interesting. You had generations of people who had first hand accounts of their home countries in decades prior, very cool.
