Calf stretching, get a tennis ball and roll the bottom of your foot on it, get a plastic coke bottle, put it in the freezer with water, roll your foot on said frozen coke bottle. It’s very important to stretch your calf BEFORE you get out of bed in the morning. Your plantar fascia is very lax at night and when you stand up out of bed it really stretched the fascia causing more damage. Pull your foot back towards you and hold for 30 seconds, repeat 3-4 times.
You probably notice it hurts more first thing in the morning. That’s because the fascia has been lax all night.
Do the above mentioned and it will slowly get better, trust me

I went through it and it’s brutal. The best advice I can give is to buy new shoes (work shoes, casual, tennis, etc). Also, stay away from turf shoes. From what I was told that was part of my issue. Your doctor will probably give you something to put in freezer that you will use for foot exercises. Try to do that on the regular basis.

What I do.. and what I recommend.. is to take like a 20 ounce Coke bottle... fill it with water... freeze it... and then roll it back and forth.
Throw it back in the freezer until the next use.

I had it in both feet for about two years to one degree or another . Still get scares all the time . It definitely slows your roll.

I started to do triathlons in my late 30s....this led me to running more and more and more- until one day I hobbled back to the hotel I was staying at.
It was terrible- couldn’t train, could barely get around work. One time, it hurt so bad, I went to the ER. I wanted an ortho to cut my foot off, I wouldn’t have questioned surgery one bit. My ortho suggested a ramp to do some calf-style extensions on- this helped somewhat.
Then, I took a chance- Alzner Orthotics- don’t delay- get them. About $200 bucks for 2 little crappy plastic pieces to put in your shoes. Within weeks, I could walk again.
Do it...it was the ONLY thing that helped me.

Rest and shoes with good arch support. Ice often. But mainly rest with NO running etc.

Superfeet are pretty good in the $50 range, I believe.

New Balance
There is a reason us old folks all wear them.

One of the things that really helped me was sleeping with a strassburg sock (amazon has it). It kept some tension on the fascia so the mornings weren't so bad.
And I switched to Altra shoes a few years ago and haven't looked back.

Go to a podiatrist. Now. You may avoid surgery or at least get it in a timely fashion.
