Turner dominates the maintenance contracts. Brown and Root is squeezing some out of them. It’s only a fraction of the work Turner has.
On the Turnaround end. It’s pretty divided up between the turnaround companies. B&R , SWS , SWAT , TWS and few other companies.
So basically nothing has changed much.

Turner, Jacob Field Service, Brown & Root, ISC, etc. Many times the name changes, the men, change hard hats and FRC’s.

Back when I was in the game, I heard lots of bad about these dudes.
Also saw them buy JVIC and within five years and turned it to crap. JVIC had one of the best tower divisions in the country at the time of the buyout.

the lowest bidder willing to give kickbacks and favors to the bosses for getting the contracts

thats how its always been done

company names change and a handful get shuffled around, but its not a very big group to select from just like with security services or specialty contractors

Very rarely happens anymore in the big boy world. Yes there are a few shady things happening here and there, but it's not like the old days when you could easily pay to play.

I'm a mechanic and work for the plant. Contractors (Performance) handle hyroblasting, scaffolds, insulating, etc. Maintenance and Instrumentation/Electricians are in house

The zip ties in the warehouse work perfectly fine. We’ll just kick the can down the road for 20 years until it becomes someone else’s problem.

So they? SWAT is more prevalent along the river than tuner for ta’s for years now. Plus Turner general maintenance lost a few plants as of late.

Shout out to the college baws set up on a plant turnaround by their dads circa 1986 for an entire summer. But then dragging up after one 80 hour week after making $12 an hour at time & a half and realizing, you banked enough money to pay for an entire semester of Thursdays at Freds.

I don't think he talked to me until I graduated.
