How old is this group? My son is 30 and this kind of thing is very common with his group. He was dating this girl for a while and everytike they did something together it was in a big group. I have friends with kids in their 20s and they've all noticed this as well. My theory is that this age group does not know how to handle communication one on one due to social media and texting non stop. So they hang out in groups to avoid uncomfortable one on one, face to face interaction.
