Prayers for the families of the victims.

It doesn’t matter if she’s connected to a coach or not. A ton of people on this board know she and her family well. She was only engaged and married to him in the last 2-3 years, and has been a topic on this board long before that. RIP Carley. Hope you have the best view of the big game from heaven.

Are they all related?

I doubt it.

you click the log you can see it was dropping 1500’/min 30 seconds after takeoff
Most of the time at lft the landings and take offs are to the NE. I saw the wind today was more out of the SE, which isn't that common here. Likely that the take off was in the opposite direction and I wonder if that and the particular cross wind had anything to do with it.
Someone posted that the plane was dropping at 1500ft/min which isn't all that fast. The distance from the airport to behind the Walmart definitely points to some sort of issue upon takeoff. Looking at flight aware it looks like the normal plan would have been to take off towards the north, but they did take off to the south?
Did they bank to steep to soon maybe and stalled out? Where's our pilots to clarify, of they haven't already.

Wade and Vaughn are coworkers. Not sure of the connection with the rest.

I’m not an investigator or expert but I am a pilot in the area.
Some reports stated that there might have been engine issues. Loss of an engine on takeoff in a non-centerline thrust multi-engine aircraft is dangerous. Yaw can become so severe it can roll the aircraft over.
My assumption is that he took off to the southwest then turned to the east to head for Atlanta. Loss of the engine then forced him to “circle to land” back on the same runway he just departed from.
Likely didn’t have enough altitude or speed to make it back. Maybe the low ceilings and bad visibility played role but who knows.

Vaughn Crisp was the CTO of Global Data Systems. Gretchens husband is a part owner (might be full)

It looked like a pretty long debris field which to me makes it look like he tried to land in the field. If it was an engine loss maybe that particular plane doesn’t have good enough single engine performance to maintain altitude.

Vmc surely came into play here. And he did look like he came in shallow.

a time of tragedy that has affected lots of people, why post something so ignorant ? If your family or wife just died, would it be appropriate to make jokes about who owned the plane ? C’mon dude, really
I would like to apologize. When I made the comment I hadn’t read the whole thread and was unaware it was someone connected to LSU that many of y’all knew. I’ve been at work and was behind on the news, I didn’t mean to seem like an a-hole. My bad guys

I just realized it was a turboprop not a piston. A piper Cheyenne, not the average weekend warrior plane.

The pilot, Ian flew that plane for years. At least a decade of more

Local resident and eyewitness Kevin Jackson told KLFY:
'I was right outside before the crash. I noticed (the plane) was low and smoking like hell'
Wondering if this was after hitting the power cables.
So sad!

They originally said he tried to land on the road.

I know the pilot tried his hardest to save them. Just awful, disgusting tragedy.
