This thread reminds me of LSU pizza girl.

So? Let's compare delivery drivers to waitresses..
I say don't tip either of them.
Aren't we just talking about manners? The OP was annoyed because of the attitude. He's not suggesting you not tip a delivery guy or waitress.

Do you also have a problem tipping waitresses for refilling your beverage and occasionally handing you your food?
I do. I'm just curious to see if you're a hypocrite.
You are totally missing the point. It sounds like the OP was ready to tip a fair amount.
The part of the scenario that would have pissed me off is when the driver said "I make my money from tips". Well no shite, bitch. That would have insulted my intelligence. I am an educated middle-aged man. I am very familiar with the business model that is pizza delivery. I know how it works, so you don't need to remind me.
Nobody under any circumstance should ever ask for a tip. Period. Indisputable truth.

Doesn't virtually every restaurant blatantly ask for tips? They put it on the receipt, they tell you it's automatic over a certain number of patrons at a table, come on.
Everywhere else has tip jars.
She shouldn't have asked for more, but you shouldn't have stiffed her.

If a delivery driver ever says those words to me, my bitter curmudgeonly middle-age arse would have taken back the tip I had given and placed a call to her store to demand to speak to her manager. That would piss me off to no end.

You already know. If someone makes a big deal out of the fact that they work for tips, commissions, tries to upsell you, or alludes to the fact that they have a special burden of having BILLZ to paaay, you know what it is.
Yeah because white people don't do stuff like this.

Takes a lot of balls to do what she did. You handled it good. Just don't ever order Dominoes from that place again, for your own good.

You should have called the pizza place and gotten her fired
Man, you don't know the girl's story. Just because she asked for a bigger tip doesn't mean you have to go after her job. That would be a dick move.

I would imagine that you're like my ex-MIL and have established a reputation of being a cheapskate.
The fact that the working class has to beg you to reach for your billfold, not your bus driver's change dispenser, tells me that you only don't live in a "low income" area because you are the fricking toilet paper use police among other unsavory practices.
If your delivery people have to explain how tipping works, you're an a-hole. Tip, or move back to the ghetto.

You should try a wee bit harder next time

I don't know to make of you.
You're not the jackass that I originally took you for, but I still want to punch my computer screen whenever I read your posts.
That seems like a problem on my end. I will learn to grind my teeth in silence over your posts so that everyone can win.

Thanks. I appreciate your feedback. It makes me a better person.

Maybe she had to ask because shitty people like you only tip $2. Don't order pizza if you cannot afford a proper tip you cheap bastard.
Posted on 8/1/16 at 9:51 pm to BullredsRus
She's probably just a socially awkward weirdo who doesn't grasp why what she did was inappropriate. It would surprise me if someone said it to me too, but it wouldn't affect me enough to care.

This has the makings from a scene in the adult film, Big Sausage Pizza.

I would have given her... Just the tip.

$2 can be 20% of your purchase. Don't be a Domino's pizza delivery driver if you're looking for big bucks.

While not pizza, last time someone asked me for a tip it was a restaurant in Orlando. I put the bill on the card and left a cash tip.
Waiter followed us out the door and asked why we didn't leave a tip. I walked back in, picked up the 20 and pocketed it.
"Now I'm not leaving one" and walked out.
