Pit Bull Mauls 2 Kids in Car Seat

Truly a very sad situation. The trauma that those children had to endure and continue to endure today cannot be measured or minimized.
I'm around all breeds of dogs including pit bulls all the time. I bring my dog to the dog park at least two times per week. Based upon my interactions, every pit bull I have encountered with the exception of one were well behaved and understood their role at the dog park.
The one instance where this was not the case was due to a horrible owner that thought it was "right" to discipline their pit bull by hitting it with his shirt and trying to "kick it."
I'm sure I will catch some flack, but I honestly believe that the majority of problems this breed faces today is because of their owner. Sure if the dog attacks, it can cause severe damage. But the point is ... if the pit bull has a responsible owner, an attack should never occur.
Same can be said for any of the "bully" breeds. It wasn't long ago that Rottweilers, German Shepherds and Doberman Pinschers were the "Pit bull" of today.

This whole story is bizarre.
That behavior is incredibly strange for any dog. To just hop a fence, leap into a car, and then brutalize two kids like that. There is nothing territorial about the attack. The kids weren't provoking the animal.
It's almost as if it was hunting them.

The owners or possessors of animals that cause injuries should be criminally charged as though they personally caused those injuries. We get enough dog owners convicted of aggravated battery jailed, maybe they'll rethink the wisdom of owning such animals without responsibility restraining them.

Pit Bulls have been bred to be overly aggressive and kill. They serve no purpose in the home as a pet. Every time a kid gets mauled or killed there are people who wanna say oh my pit bull is so sweet it wouldn't do that.

Every time I see one of these tPOS dogs while I'm walking mine I reroute if possible. Not worth taking a chance
