Tired of hearing that pits are horrible dogs. Its not the breed, its the owner and how the dog is raised.

This opinion requires 100% of pit attacks to be pits owned by “bad owners” and not a single pit attack to have happened by a pit owned by “good owners.”

That is, unless all pits that haven’t mauled a human are the ones owned by “good owners” and if one of those pits leave the reservation, then we relabel those owners as “bad owners.”

Sort of a fun, goalpost-moving game.

Case closed. Don’t trespass and you won’t have this problem.

So I can have a lion in my fenced in backyard and fear no consequences?

This x1000.

In nearly all attacks that were unjustified, the dogs were mistreated from birth, chained up, starved, usually by annoying people.

A 16-year-old Texas boy mauled by three pit bulls inside a fenced-in backyard Saturday has died, investigators said

Frankly, I'm inclined to say, "Play stupid-arse games, win stupid-arse prizes" with this set of facts.

Wild pit bulls, roaming the neighborhood and killing/eating children? Kill them and their owners.

Pit bulls just being the highly effective protective dogs they are and killing a drifter?

Meh. Don't be a drifter.

I mean now that he's famous, probably not. I'm pretty sure he admitted to being a drug dealer, at one time. :rimshot:

If you had the legal right to own a lion and had it in a suitable cage and someone got into that cage without permission, should you be prosecuted?

Stranger in your yard at 5am? Screw that.

Many OTers would pull their gun on him. This is no different in my opinion. Homelessness doesn’t give you the right to trespass.

Innocent of the charges of murder but guilty on the charge of being a pit bull.

Sentenced to death.

Owner should be charged and put in jail for homicide. Dogs should be put down for being pit bulls and killing a human.

If the 16 yr old had been there before he knew the dogs were in the yard, he was either real dumb or desperate.

Plus how is a minor homeless, where's the parents or CPS.

The dogs are still not to be trusted and must be put to death

easy in my eyes. The dogs were in their yard and the kid shouldn't have been in there. Only weird thing here is:

quote:

“He told me he’s homeless and I wanted to help him out, actually,” Guillermo Lorenzo, the homeowner, told Fox 4 Dallas.

does this mean that the homeowner invited him in or he just knew the guy was around?

Once they taste that blood, you may as well do like they do bears, cougars or any other animal that kills a human. You track it down and kill it because otherwise, they will do it again.

Also, were there any signs on his fence warning about the danger of crossing into his backyard? If not, homeowner should be liable.
