Shell, Exxon, BP, citgo, kroger, sams club, Costco, etc.
I thought they each had their own special gas with detergents and shite but this tells me it's all the same damn thing.

They put their extra crap in once they pull it out of the pipeline.

They all use the same stock, just add detergents the prior to shipping to gas stations.
It's probably Amazon's fault though.

They all use the same gasoline, it comes in through same pipeline. it's when the truck is loaded each specific brand of additive is added
Example: BASF makes the specific addtive for BP gasoline, comes right out of Geismar, via Germany. They also make it for the generic (cheaper) brands.
Eta: The BP additive is the best, good shite,
expensive arse shite

The additives are more about branding than quality of the gas.
"Name Brand" gas is usually more expensive because the station owner pays higher franchise fees.

News reports said it would only effect no name gas. WTF Shell and Exxon.

Maybe in some, but mostly due to higher concentration of detergents

I'm surprised you don't have an electric car.

It's kinda like making the gas/oil mix for 2-stroke engines (pour that little bottle of oil into a gas can, then add gas and shake to mix). Just a larger scale.
Or, for workout-aholics, brand name gas is like making a post workout protein shake: add protein powder to blender, pour in liquid, mix.

Anyone on here working at the site?

How much of this shortage is due to the pipeline and how much is just panic?

The additives do not get put in until they pull the fuel from the rack.
A lot of terminals will group all of the companies' pre-additive fuel together by type, and just document when one of the companies withdraws it.
It is stupid cool to watch in person, and you'll generally hear a ping noise when the additives are added.

Nope, that'd be Chevron Techron Concentrate.

Pipeline runs from Galveston to New York. Pretty big deal.
