Piggly Wiggly was the first chain to let shoppers shop their own groceries and put them into carts. Prior to that the model was the grocery items were behind a counter and you handed a store clerk a list to gather for you.
In the present time, with crime and un-mitigated shoplifting, I can see us returning to the old model just like some after hours convenience stores have done.

Imagine living in a time where that lineup of women was the norm.
What a time to be alive.
Beautiful, thin, feminine women.
A booming economy.
Classic cars.
Affordable homes.
Hard to believe it was
Funny thing is, everybody seems to want to go back to this classy time where people dressed up and looked great. Meanwhile, the same people crying for this on message boards are wearing sweatpants to doctor's appointments and wear muscle shirts on airplanes and weigh three bills.

This was probably a grand opening. They also had dudes bag your groceries and take them to the car and unload them and return the basket.
That was a good summer or after school job for kids…

We traded beauty standards for "hotness" which evidently can be anything,

This! Men used to be men and wear suits and women dressed accordingly.
Now we get sweatpants, pajamas, in the name of modern comfort.

Baby boomers are defined as individuals born between 1946 and 1964.
So in 1962 the oldest Boomer was 16 years old and the youngest boomer had not been born.
That photo of Peak American wasn't created by Boomers.
Any other words of wisdom ?

Are you going from left to right, because that is way off. No way fourth from the left is #1 and the blonde on the far right is #8.

I actually remember this at the Winn Dixie in Delmont Village in the late 60’s.
To add insult to injury, the old Delmont Piccadilly closed its doors yesterday. Good times and a great neighborhood back in the day.

It was a joke. The OT always rates females lined up like that. I paid no attention to any of their pics. I just counted out 9 gals and decided to play the OT rate the gal game and just randomly assigned the numbers.
