Infants with earrings - no problem. There is a legit reason to get them pierced early....some girls are scared to get them pierced when they're older.
Infants with makeup - TRASHY. I can't stand when I see pictures of a small child with freaking lipstick and eye shadow.

My sil had two daughters ears done young. They both had constant infections no matter the quality of the studs. Crispy crunchy red scabby ugly ears on those babies and pain. Both older now and refuse to wear earrings even though they no longer get infected ears. Holes didn't close though.
No she did not.
Some of you guys act like its some sort of painful surgery. All I felt was a pinch.
Obviously, people should do what they want, but the OP asked for opinions. I gave mine. Let the child make the decision when she's old enough to do so and old enough to care for the ears.
Personally, seeing a baby with pierced ears makes me cringe like I said. That and those awful headbands with buff flowers and bows that look like growths off the head.
Poor baby girl here.

Did she take them to one of those shitty mall places to get them done? That's a common theme with those places. If you take them to a good tattoo parlor or if you know a pediatrician that does it with a good needle instead of smacking a blunt device through the ears, you usually don't have the infection is

She couldn't decide for herself.

My wife has said 11 is the age for both our daughters.

My daughter is not ugly so we did not need to put jewelry on her to distract people from her face.

What the hell does a baby need pierced ears for? Trashy IMO

Whenever I see a baby with pierced ears it tells me that the child is just a fashion accessory for the parents

I'd be interested in a zip code analysis of posters in this thread. Lots of trash in this thread calling other people trashy.

add a bow around her bald head
That's the dumbest looking shite ever.
I consider it a vote of confidence that an Alabama fan who is an adult male thinks that an infant girl looks dumb wearing a bow with no hair.
The fact that most of this board seems to have a problem with pierced ears on a 6-month old makes glad that we had our pediatrician pierce both of our daughters.
