OK, does your Dad have an ax or anything?

Can they get access to the roof?

How is he doing?

All of their tools are in the shed outside. And no way he could have done that. He's had 3 strokes in the past year the most recent a couple of months ago.

I don't think they can get to the roof.

Dad is reallY freaking out and mom is trying to stay calm for him.

Thanks to everyone sharing pictures, I don't have much to share other than a crawfish trying to get onto my friend's back porch..

My mom and dad have been flooded in their subdivision since yesterday afternoon. Just found out they are getting water in the house. Hoping it's not much and starts receding soon. This is when I hate being so far away.

Damn NoHo, hate to hear this about your parents? Do they have someone to help them?

I don't know if this information is useful, but I have the TV on the location station covering this (WAFB) and there was a lady who is stuck in traffic on the interstate, with a bad and other young child, for 5 hrs. She needed supplies for the kids & tweeted to WAFB, who reported the tweet and within 20 mins they reported that help was on the way for that person.

Maybe you can tweet WAFB and/or the local PD of FD department just to make them aware, especially since your father isn't able to get to higher ground.

Karma is a bitch. Expect two feet of rain to come your way. I hope your nuts get jock rot from the three feet of water in your moms basement.

NoHo, if you post what subdivision they can get help getting out and getting to a shelter. i am sure they know that but other people can help by making their evacuation quicker.

this is like a 50 year type flood here. These aren't people who live in a floodplain upset that the spillway is opening (those people i can't really feel for) this is a bad flood caused by a slow moving storm. Are you saying Kentucky never floods?

Pretty ridiculous of that fricker to shite on people during a life threatening situation. People are losing their property etc.

I know.. I'll be an a-hole who posts my thoughts about their life decisions. Right or wrong.

Thats needed.
