We had a 1964 190D and then a 1969 220D. Parents bought the former in Geemany and toured Europe before shipping it home.

If bombers can withstand great damage to the fuselage, don’t use armor there. Every pound of armor negates a pound of ordinance.
Only use armor where it improves the maximum chance of survival of the aircraft to accomplish its objective.
Personnel, fuel tanks, engines, and control surfaces are those things to be protected.
