They sold sold some real groceries.
They were scattered all over BTR. There was also a convenience store called Phil A Sac if I remember correctly. And I wanna say you could get good bar b q sandwiches at Pak A Sak.

Julie London (Dixie McCall on Emergency!) had one of the all-time sexy voices.

Yep, I remember Pak a Sak in south Shreveport on early 70s. It was on HWY 1 south of LSU-S.
That was my Pak A Sak! Back in the 60's and 70's Shreveport was a big small town. I am pretty sure I know 777 or at the very least know a lot of the same people.

When I grew up in Lake Charles, there was a Pak-A-Sac on East Prien Lake Road that sold barbecue chicken sandwiches for a quarter a piece or five for a dollar. Many a summer day, my lunch was an icee, a bag of chips, and a barbecue sandwich.
They were the original 7-Eleven

If that was your Pak a Sak, did you grow up in South Broadmoor?

The Pak-a-Sak in Shreveport at 163 East King's Highway was one of the older ones. There's a photo of it dating from 1953 that I ran across somewhere on the internet quite a few years back. The interior had a distinctly older ambiance than the two on Youree Drive.
But the chain goes back a little further. I ran across a newspaper ad from April 1949, advertising the grand opening of the Pak-a-Sak on Line Avenue.

I was three years ahead of you, we’ve more than likely crossed paths or have mutual friends/acquaintances, especially if you played sports and were in a frat at LSU

We weren't snobs! We just didn't know you existed.
