It was the beginning of my sophomore year at LSU when the ones in the Union went to a dollar a pack. Needless to say, I didn't quit like I said I would when they hit a dollar.

I made a similar promise to give up copenhagen if it ever got above 4 bucks.
we had an identical machine in my Texas Tech dorm, i think they were a buck and a quarter.

I believe we had that same swing set in the early 70’s.

I got that exact swing set for my 5th birthday in 1973.

Do moving pictures (movies) count as pics from days gone by? I found some old 16mm home movies reels in the attic recently. This one is the LSU campus and the state capitol bldg from 1947. (Mike I makes a brief appearance around the 1:30 mark.)
Sorry for the quality, but after 79 years movie reels tend to get a wee bit brittle.

I'd bet dollars to donuts many of those cars in the 1970's Cuba pic are STILL on the streets being used daily.

"Hey... go get me a pack of Kents from the machine back there."
Heard that from the old man a time or two.

Gotta wear your toughskins on swing day.
Did anybody else's dad add a trapeze bar by bending (1/2"maybe 3/4") galvanized pipe? 4-5' feet of pipe. Flatten the ends and drill holes for the mounting hooks. Two 90 degree bends.
