“Saints” BBQ Sauce:
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup salad oil
1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
1 cup catsup
1/4 cup vinegar
2 T brown sugar
2 T Worcestershire sauce
2 T Creole mustard
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp Tabasco
Cook onion in salad oil in sauce pan until tender, but not brown. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer 10 minutes. Use as a basting sauce. Yields 2 1/2 cups

Yep, I remember Pak a Sak in south Shreveport on early 70s. It was on HWY 1 south of LSU-S.

they were all over town in the 60s, early 70s, there were also Fil-A-Bils

Pac A Sak was in BR before Circke K and 7/11 and were scattered throughout town. I believe 7/11 bought them out.
The one by my house on S Acadian near Claycut didn’t have gas. They were the first to serve Icees. They had a stand with tv tubes and you could test your old tube and replace it with one of their new tubes. TV repair was a huge deal.
They sold sold some real groceries. They were pricey but you could pick up basic goods if you were in a hurry.

I don’t know the context around this picture, but the Lee statue in NOLA was there from the 1880s. No cars.
