When the engineered the interstates they screwed up two arteries. Harrel’s Ferry and Perkins Road.
They created bottlenecks where Sherwood meets 12 and where Perkins/ Highland merge to go under 10.

“Baton Rouge” doesn’t build exits. It’s the state government who does all work for the interstates.

If the state were smart they would just bypass Baton Rouge entirely like Ticlaw Florida.

The exit needs to be at bluff road. This is the only way to fix highland exit traffic.
My wait at the highland rd exit on I-10 eastbound yesterday at 4 was 1/10 of what it normally is.
I like it.

Just need the light at highland/Pecue now.
Should have been a traffic circle

But I believe those interchanges on the Pecue exit are too complex for the majority of BR area drivers
Have you driven them? It’s extremely easy to navigate.

From what I’ve read, EBR put up a majority of the funding for the Pecue interchange.

I read these routine Shreveport sucks threads & then I think of BTR, with decades-long cluster f$cks that never change. On my travels for work, I would much rather avoid BTR all together. It’s such a pain in the arse.

If needs a major redesign.
At least they installed a decent amount of lighting at the intersection. That helps at night.

They absolutely RUINED College drive. Sure it’s easier to get off i10/12 now, but the whole road now from hyacinth to past corporate especially going north is awful. Bennington is backed up dang near to the old funny bone every evening and for god sakes how can we not get the freaking red lights synced up.

Bluff road is ascensions problem. Not Baton Rouge’s…….

Do you think the Pecue exit was done because of how close it is to the Woman's hospital?

Yep. The original Perkins road route would do wonders right now.

There’s Womans Hospital and a very big VA clinic is being built on Pecue. Also a Loves Truck Stop.

will also prevent accidents
Anyone who thinks a light a pecue and highland will prevent accidents has another thing coming.
People speeding and on their phones will be rear ending all day and night. I just hope no one gets killed.
