I surrender.

Was driving around town today doing some errands.

Some observations:

At every light, people were agonizingly slow to move when the light turned green

On 45 mph streets everyone would go 30 mph.

Slower cars would just hang out in the left lane.

I would honk friendly a few times for people to go when the light was green but they didn’t give a frick.

So what did I see?

I would say 80%+ had their phone in their hand using it.

The phones have won the war. No one cares if they make people miss the light. No one cares if they slow up traffic. No one cares if you honk at them to pay attention. No one cares if they get caught using one while driving.

I surrender.

From now on I’ll do the same at lights. I’ll be on Tigerdroppings and just have people let me know if the light is green to go instead of me paying attention. frick it.

I think people arent suposed to use them because its dangerous and they could swurve and hit and kill people not because they watch netflix at redlights and are slow to go

used to do traffic counts for the city, which involved sitting at an intersection for hours just watching people drive through.

shocking number of people would go all the way through the intersection without looking up from their phone.

But the politicians passed laws to make it illegal! Yet the only thing accomplished was being able to pat themselves on the back. There's always been reckless driving laws on the books. We didn't need more laws if they don't enforce them to begin with.

A few years ago I stopped the polite horn honk and now I lay on the horn if I can tell they are on the phone. The most amazing part is that the people in front holding everyone up act like I am the a-hole for laying on the horn and not them for being selfish pricks.

I have considered getting train air horns installed just to up my game.

What amazes me is that I have to toot on the horn even 5 cars back. The 3 cars ahead of me behind the first person at the light don’t honk either.

That tells me all 4 of these MFers are on their phones.

Anticipate the cars using phones. Cut your commute time by 20%.

It is easy to profile.

Big white SUV? That bitch on Facebook

I can’t wait till self driving cars are the norm. In the future I hope it’s illegal to actually drive a car on public roads.

Until a self-driving auto can pull a utility trailer, camper, boat, etc then this will never be a thing

You ever watched unhinged? If not do so bc that long honk could be your last! Just saying
I too lay on the horn.
One time I was on a back road and a guy lays on the horn bc I was going slow " yes i was on togerdroppings" so cool I deserved it. Dude flys past me and starts driving at a snails pace in front of me and I lay on my horn as he did and go to pass this SOB!! He speeds up and swerves over preventing me from passing him. He gets to a stop sign and jumps out! Hes in his early 30s and I jump out of my car and proceed as he does all the while telling him to get his arse back in his car before I put his arse there.
Then my mind goes to the videos of mofos blasting fools over road rage!!
I. That split second of old age setting in 50 at that time he turns around and gets back into his car.
The older you get the wiser "sometimes" you get. Its not worth it.
In my younger days I was that dude that if a gun was pulled would be the fricker that said " Shoot me Mother fricker, do it bitch"
Well years later my ex brother in law shot me in the leg and tried to shoot me in the face but god loves me and the piece of shite 380 jammed!!
Needless to say i dont like people who handle guns unsafely or nonchalant.
Anyway watch who you honk at is what I was trying to say, ya never know what they are going through.
Dude could've lost everything, family, wife fricked someone, job, or all the above!! Life is short patience young grasshopper

I carry, like all good citizens should. I will continue to long-honk at any a-hole holding people up.

I’ve commented more than a couple times recently that drivers wandering out of their lanes are common now. I see it daily.

They’re looking at a screen while driving.

I hear ya.

I just do a toot toot. I used to lay on the horn. I only do that now if cars coming at me are starting to cross the center line. Mostly on Highland Road.
