Philosophy time... what's the definition of god?

After careful reasoning I posit that it is "that in which you put your faith." so it could be a person, the government, God, or something else. Thoughts...

Any god that can be fully defined is not a god at all.

A higher being that requires blind faith to believe in.

Whatever started the universe from nothingness. Whatever caused the universe to “be”.

I mean “that in which you put your faith” doesn’t mean anything
You have definition problems
What is your definition of faith here …. What is the that?
Your also using metaphors in your definition
You are putting something in something like water in a cup …. Is that the best way to describe faith and how’s it’s utilized ?
A vague definition that anything can be part of … sounds like your saying everything is god

God is the opportunity for creation.

yes it does. to believe in something requires faith, that is it cannot be utterly known or defined empirically.

faith
unconditional trust

umm.... no

no. when i say "in god we trust," that doesn't imply you physically putting something inside of something else. it's a metaphysical notion.

no, just that in with you put your unconditional trust.

That is a silly opinion.
God, by the entire globe (involved in any of the major religions), is considered an omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent, supernatural sentient entity that created the cosmos, and us.
But I understand your angle, it's just not what the -definition- of God is.

I don’t think so …. Just a quick google search and you will realize this is not true … not even all Christian’s agree with this

I would definite it as a mythical being with a variety of what we would call supernatural powers.

Then they most certainly do not understand the obvious wording of every iteration of the bible.

in other words, that in which you put your faith. i fail to see how my definition does not also encompass yours.

I don't have that faith. I'm making the case that this is how the vast majority of humans define God. Otherwise see dictionary.
I do understand your point though.
