Serious question — what is the natural immunity after 6 months?
Orders of magnitude greater and longer lasting, its science.
Source?
I had COVID about a month ago and was curious how long my natural immunity would last

A potential limitation of the study was a lack of data on adherence to masking guidelines and occupations in the study population, which could have affected frequency of testing and likelihood of exposure to the virus.
Now that’s some funny shite. Adherence to mask guidelines! LMAO.
Anyone that believes masks are the answer are full blown idiots.

How well do you think it works after six months?

They talked about masks and their potential effect on results. For instance if a large portion of their sample group came from and area with draconian lockdowns and masks, that could affect their results to inflate their numbers. They stated they did not know those data.
Article did not mention stratification.

Anyone commenting in the thread about interpreting the study or even the article about it should ask themselves "can I articulate the difference between the terms of art 'vaccine effectiveness' and 'vaccine efficacy'?".
If you can not then you are a big step away from being able to properly evaluate the study/article. One of the big issues with the public health messaging from the beginning is the failure to explain terms of art or simply avoiding their use. Clinicians are generally better at this than researchers. An example is when a cardiologist is speaking to most patients they won't talk about a carotid endarterectomy they will call it a Roto-rooter.
One of the big issues is the average person doesn't read clinical studies regularly nor have they been trained to understand them. Those of us who are laypeople simply don't have the depth of knowledge to swim effectively in that water, most of the journalists that write about it do not either.

Do you know what that term means? If so how could something be orders greater than 50% and how could anyone know infection acquired immunity lasts orders of magnitude longer?

The last study that I actually bothered to read, showed natural immunity still in effect at 16 months

The natural immune protection that develops after a SARS-CoV-2 infection offers considerably more of a shield against the Delta variant of the pandemic coronavirus than two doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, according to a large Israeli study that some scientists wish came with a “Don’t try this at home” label. The newly released data show people who once had a SARS-CoV-2 infection were much less likely than never-infected, vaccinated people to get Delta, develop symptoms from it, or become hospitalized with serious COVID-19.

quote:And the vast majority of people who were hospitalized were/are unvaccinated. Part of the increase was due to a more contagious variant, and another part is because people with the vaccine initially thought that they couldn't contract covid, therefore they probably didn't even stay home when they contracted covid which led to an increase in spread. This is probably still happening today.
Interesting though cases and hospitalizations went into hyperdrive post vaccine......
