I agree Stankelbr, but then you have the idiots that want his handlers to cattle prod his balls and anus, beat him with a stick, or drug him to the point of near unconsciousness just to see him in the cage on game day.

yeah, because that's the only way to get him into his cage is to cattle prod his balls and anus.

I agree with these arguments.

He gets better care than he would in the wild. Okay

He would quickly die if released. Can't fend for himself in the wild. Okay.

Should not be allowed to breed in the wild. Okay.

BUT, the same holds true for the Tiger at the truck stop. If you support Mike and don't want to be a hypocrite, then you gotta support keeping the tiger at the truck stop.
And don't ever buy a bird or a fish. And surely don't kennel a dog.

This is an old petition, and the guy starting the petition gives a weak argument even by animal nut job standards. Nothing to see here, moving along.

Those are just a few of the messed up real suggestions offered up on the rant. And they were serious. The balls and anus one always stick in my mind because it was said by the same person in the same post, almost as if you had to prod both to get him to comply.

No we don't. There can be standards of care for animals that, if they aren't met, the animal can be taken away and given to a Zoo or facility who can care for the animal. Kind of like when Child Protective Services takes kids away from shitty parents who can't cloth, feed, provide adequate shelter for the chirrens.

I'm sure there are lot of places that would like a free tiger with stipulations of 'adopting' the animal.

There is a remarkable difference in the situation that Mike is in compared to the poor tiger at that shite hole.

You can't be serious.

There are levels of care. Because I am pro adoption, I should support kids being adopted by child molesters?

And I wouldn't ever buy a bird.

And a fish is a fricking fish.

My air conditioned house, truck, this computer, and restaurants aren't at all part of a human's natural habitat either. There's something to the fact that as soon as a species evolved with opposable thumbs and a few extra IQ points we collectively said "frick our natural habitat" and started inventing stuff. I'd have to think other species would pull the same stunt if they could, fearing for your life day in and day out stinks.

Yeah, I noticed most people were from out of state. I really don't think anything will happen even if it hits 70k signatures. They only need about 50 more to hit 70k.
