I heard the owner was relocating to the Northshore recently. NOLA

Peter Mayer, the state’s largest advertising agency, is leaving its longtime home on Camp Street in the Central Business District when its lease expires June 30, and the three-building complex that has housed the agency since 1979 is up for sale.

Peter Mayer owner Michelle Edelman says she has been planning for the firm’s relocation since she acquired the agency in February from brothers Mark and Josh Mayer, whose father, the late Peter Mayer, founded the firm in 1967.

The Mayers retained ownership of the 40,000-square foot property in the transaction and have been leasing the space back to the agency.

“They’re in a prime location and pricing, historically, for those kinds of properties would be as high as $200 per square foot,” said Baldwin Justice, a commercial appraiser with McEnery Co. “That might be a little ambitious now, with inflation, interest rates and local market crime. They might encounter some headwinds. But you could see as much as $200 per square foot.”

Or you could see it sitting empty thanks to Dementia Joe’s economy and Teedys outstanding city management.

Cliff Notes: New Orleans is a crime infested shite hole and we don’t want our employees murdered going to work in the CBD.

Teedy and her ilk will just cry racism and white flight. Never mind that three upstanding citizens were shot on Canal Street in front of UMC last night.

Yes. 100pct. There is a distinct lack of feeling of responsibility in New Orleans. Lots of folks will tell you that you are a heartless racist for even suggesting that their votes are what caused this mess.

Meanwhile every time there is a scandal, it involves on of LaToya Cantrell's friends and their address is on/near St. Charles. Specifically Jason Williams and the NFP director.

Carlos Marcello had the good sense not to live in the biggest house on the biggest street in town.

Be a shame when all their talent jumps ship for Sterling Cooper, but McCann Erickson has been looking to get a foothold in the south, they might acquire all of them.

Queen & Cresent will want the building.

Meyer had an employee murdered in the 90s by a parking lot attendant at the garage one block down.

Who in their right mind would setup headquarters for their business in New Orleans proper if they weren’t tied to the market due to local obligations?

I mean short of going full CA with government regs and taxes what else could that local government do to convince people they don’t value businesses and job growth?

If you have to be in that area you’d head to the north shore.

If you don’t have to be in that market you would hit the road to TX or FL immediately.
