So he's a 'good guy' for not raging out on TV? Is that how low the bar is now?

No, Watson is a good guy in general, sorry you didn't get that.

No, he made a dumb joke. I really doubt he had/has any animosity toward Watson.

It was a dumb, cheap joke on Watson about his wife, insinuating he's banging his wife, on national TV. It wasn't a bunch of guys sitting around a room, then it would've been a dumb joke.

Imagine thinking anything on TV is real and unscripted

It's an impromptu sports show about college football...

The subject is scripted, but the banter isn't...

Not blown completely out of proportion or anything.

The other guys were laughing. Should everyone be reassigned??

Then we have Shannon Sharpe throwing gas on this??

Maybe he shouldn't be commenting on this, considering his past history of "accusations"...

This is why the comment was perfectly in line. It's a guy's show. Watson should be looking for a chance to get in a better dig rather than establish a safe space.

I doubt espn would be ok with a white guy making jokes about a black mans wife. Maybe it's being blown out of proportion but I highly doubt this was planned. It seemed awkward AF on that set afterwards.

Sounds like something I’d say to one of my boys, who gives a shite. Burns is a great LSU fan and obviously these guys get along well and can joke around.

Yeah, it was bad form, but not hostile. He should be embarrassed, not beaten and ostracized.

It was a joke. Anyone who would take offense to that has problems. I'm not really convinced Watson was offended, seemed like he was playing up the joke.

No doubt, but there is peer pressure to do something about it by the other guy or you come off looking bad. Thanks Will Smith.

Peter Burns should issue an apology and just move on with life.

The amount of people upset about this and how seriously they're taking it is hilarious.

A lot of y'all are some insecure, keyboard commandos who have no friends if you're truly upset about this incident

I think both parties are being children about all this. Is the joke in poor taste? Yes. Should he appologize? Yeah he probably should if it really irritated the guy. Is the public overreaction by an aspiring tv personality waaay over the top? Yes as well. This is a simple conversation off camera and Peter Burns can spend 2 seconds in the next segment and say "my bad" and everyone move on. Only immature children make this into what it is now.

No. They were not on a golf course. They were in a television studio. That is why I did not say " this is just basic golf course banter", but rather said it " sounded like basic golf course banter"

The term " sounded like" denotes a comparison to two things...in this case, what really occurred and what may occur on a golf course.

Nah, Imma take the W for not being in favor of on-air rage outs over a dumb joke.

I've worked a couple plant jobs that would have left your arse sobbing in the corner like a broken bitch. Your feelings really don't matter at all in the grand scheme of things.

how is that relevant?

the man played football, very well, at every single level. you don't think he's been apart of some trash talk before?

Seems pretty obvious but if someone is going to compare what they would expect Watsons reaction to be as compared to the people they hang out with, I think comparing the personalities and type of person they are is pretty relevant.

Sure, absolutely I do. I don't think I implied this was his first experience with something like this.

Same. Millennials are such bitches. The “your wife did ____ with me” & “your momma” line of jokes have been around since I was a kid. Now it’s off limits.
