SSI replaced welfare. There are whole entire families on it. Kids and able bodied young adults. They call them “crazy checks” and it’s a huge scam. There was even an NPR story about this a while back, about whole entire communities getting these checks.

SSI isn't SSDI.

I get it; she used to be absolutely correct.

The bar for receiving disability is much lower now, as you know.

I really wouldn't have thought there were this many people on welfare.

I get them confused. Whichever one gives checks to healthy kids and able bodied lazy young people. Yes it absolutely happens and in numbers that would astonish you. Get you a crazy check.

I have a brother with Downs, I think last year was the 1st year his monthly SSI broke 1,000 since he turned 18, 30 years ago. I don’t want or need anything for him, but I just can’t figure out how so many people live on their own with that kind of income. So, I’m convinced most people have some skill or knowledge to get considerably more money than that from Uncle Sam.

This needs to go below 5% by qualifying them.

I’d love to see the percentage of obese blacks who don’t work and have handicap tags.

Don't need one.

You should google or think before you post.

Add in veterans who never deployed but got 100% disability.

You don't have to have done a deployment to be disabled in the service. Just like any civilian job you can get hit by a fork lift or fall down a flight of steps. Disability doesn't have to come with a Purple Heart as long as it is a service connected condition.

I’ll spell it out… WV is poor AF yet their violent crime rate isn’t on par with the violent crime rate of other races that we’re told are violent mainly due to being poor, because of policies set in place by whites.

West Virginia is disproportionately older than other states. Older people are much less likely to commit violent crimes.
