I first noticed this several weeks ago, and saw two doing this while texting and running stop signs and red lights.

The No Agenda Podcast guys had a segment on this yesterday.

And today was my favorite, and a first: KarenBaw in an Expedition w UGA stickers wearing a UGA bandana as a "mask" with no one else in the vehicle.

It's pretty amazing.

Maybe they went to a grocery store or some other public place and don't have access to hand sanitizer until they get home so they're using the mask as a way to prevent themselves from touching their face and potentially infecting themselves until they can get home and wash their hands

I tend to think it's silly when I see someone doing it but I wouldn't admonish someone for being cautious and doing his part to stop the spread so we can get back to work as soon as possible

Violates Occam's Razor. I'm going with mostly idiots and Karen shibboleth-bearers.

Eta: this faux crisis has provided a useful litmus test re: morons of TD. OT has tested significantly positive for idiocy, while PT has been mostly negative for same.

See downvotes on this post for mini-assay results. A correlative microcosm.

The lone upvote was admittedly my own.

I’m not gonna lie I went to the store the other day and drove about 2min with the mask on because I was in a hurry. I chuckled at myself because I laugh at other people when I see them doing it.

Not as bad as the people who use one pair of gloves to touch everything then keep the gloves on when they get in the their car and drive home with them still on.

I own and operate a medical transportation service. I put mine on before I arrive to pick a patient up.

I scrolled through this thread wondering why my post was deleted, then realized we had almost the exact same thread this weekend.

Quarantine is getting to some of you.

There are actually multiple reasonable answers to this without landing on everyone are idiots.

I'm fairly certain some people are putting their masks/gloves on at home before going somewhere so they don't have to do it in the car.

A large amount of people on this board are unable to think beyond anything more complicated than 1+1=2.

So THIS is something you think is important enough to start a thread in which to melt?

How many people do you see on their phones?

I think that causes more traffic problems.

I don't get it either. I was questioning this the other day since the fatass governor and lesbian mayor who holds his balls in a vice have been spreading hysteria and floating their idiotic "phased opening plans".

I've been using the same mask for a month (the cheap disposable kind I always help myself to when taking the kids to the acute care clinic.) I'm high risk though so I have been extremely careful since this started. There is 0 point to wearing it in the car if you're alone or have family members with you.

SIAP. I still don’t understand why so many people are doing this, unless they believe Coronavirus is airborne or circulating through the vents in their car. Of all the strange things people have doing since the Covid hysteria emerged, this is one of the strangest.

Maybe they just went to the store or a restaurant?
If I go out somewhere, I don't take off my mask until I get home so I can wash my hands afterwards.

That's her lane bro. She on her phone talking. You can see her. You can get out the way.

Because I was going 90 seconds down the road and it was easier just to leave it on...

I see this too. That’s gotta either be extra paranoid germophobes, or people who forgot that shite on their face after getting in their car.

I like to pull up next to them at a traffic light, start pointing and mouth the words “you forgot your mask on”

If I’m driving just a few minutes, sometimes I just leave it be instead of on and off

Maybe they are just used to the mask and forget that it’s even on

It's actually a legit explanation despite my trolling. But I suspect some 90% are just dumb.
